Multiple departments of the Government of Catalonia and CIMNE are working on the development of a predictive tool to help in decision-making on land use planning and urban planning from the use of technologies for mass data capture to improve efficiency in city and territory planning. The main purpose is to train the competent public administrations in urban and territorial affairs to implement proactive public policies, with real-time knowledge of the dysfunctions in the achievement of their policies. It would therefore be a question of building a model that validates or questions (objectively) the level of implementation of planning strategies or public policies.
This tool for territorial prediction will focus on the characterization and subsequent modeling of industrial estates, housing developments and housing in urban neighborhoods.
